Reimpower was recently engaged by UOH, in partnership with the University of Hargeisa, to translate a national curriculum for childcare and youth development under the support of (Leave no youth behind project) funded by Danida. Our team of linguists ensured the curriculum content was accurately translated and culturally adapted for the local context.

Baseline Survey-Gender in Emergencies- OXFAM.
This is a baseline assessment to provide contextual analysis of the voice, influence, and role of women in humanitarian leadership and decision making. The baseline report will document roles and influences of different stakeholders including INGO’s, WROs, CBOs, traditional and religious leaders and community, men and women to increase women’s leadership in emergency situations.

Labor Market assessment on Future/Market Driven Skills about Investable Business Opportunities in Burao, Somaliland, Candlelight, March 2022.
We have been commissioned to roll out a comprehensive study about viable enterprises and employment creation sectors that could be oriented to youth and women by Candlelight livelihood/economic empowerment programming. We have developed a comprehensive study framework and harvested information from various stakeholders and desk study sources to develop a cutting-edge research report about investable business opportunities for youth and women economic empowerment.

Youth Led Mid-Term Evaluations-Work in Progress!
December 2021. Reimpower was commissioned to roll out a youth led evaluation about the Work in Progress! Project and has used talented Somali youth researchers to roll out a youth sensitive evaluation aimed at garnering the project progress through a rigorous and iterative data collection and consultation steps with project stakeholders. The project focuses on creating economic empowerment opportunities for young people in Somalia and does this through a multiple and complementary results (Skills development, entrepreneurship and advocacy and influencing for an enabling employed ecosystem.

Youth-UP Mid-Term Evaluations, Mercy-Corps, June 2020.
Reimpower had recently carried out a mid-term evaluation about the intermediary impact of youth Shift Project implemented by Mercy Corps to the adolescents and youth in Somalia and Somaliland. This is a multiyear project aimed at creating economic opportunities for youth and women and more specifically, youth from disadvantaged households who lost their income due to harsh climatic conditions and economic inequalities in cities.

Evidence Synthesis on Matters Affecting Young People’s Access to financial investments.
Reimpower carried out extensive research on matters affecting young people’s access to financial investments and developing a road map towards increasing young people’s access to financial opportunities including access to loans/investments from financial institutions in Somalia. This research was conducted in June 2020. The research clearly pinpointed key cultural, contextual and financial barriers affecting young people’s availability in the investment chain with more women being at the receiving end than men. Recommendations were also put forward as to how to create sustainable collaboration and synergy with existing financial schemes including small micro-finances run by existing community institutions and banks.

This baseline evaluation was commissioned to inform initial livelihood conditions of target communities for the project.
The assessment provided substantive baseline information by looking at different livelihood indicators including income per day, available livelihood assets, market conditions, community resilience level and potential actors rolling out livelihood interventions in the country.
